Be Your one furniture designer whit TFP!!

There is a very nice tool in TFP, the LAYOUT this is the best tool to use then you design your furniture.
I made this wardrobe whit this tool in this case I have use metric measurement. Look at wardrobe.jpg.

How have I done it.

1: Set the groundfloor to 0 or in my case 0.016 m that is on of chipboard standard sizes thickness. Turn of auto floor. in the setup of the program.

2: Use the layout tool to draw the first outline of your furniture. 2000 x 600 mm for the wardrobe in my example

3: Convert the outline to "Retaining Walls", if you not will have trims on the wall.

4: In wall properties in basic tab change the width to 0.016 m and in Top and bottom tab set the hight to in my example 1800 mm.

5: Now you have the walls or side of your furniture, you will have a top and bottom plate for this you can use floor make first the bottom plate set thickness to 0.016 m.

6: In the view filter turn of walls, now is it easy to chose the floor, and then duplicate the bottom floor and elevate it to 1816 mm now you have your top plate. To make shelf for the wardrobe duplicate the bottom floor but make to fit the inside of the wardrobe other vice you will see it throw the outside of the wardrobe. Now you can turn on the walls again.

7: Now you have a box that is 1832 high 2000 wide 600 deep.

You will have a open to the wardrobe in my example I have use sliding mirror doors. If you use other doors you actually get a wardrobe that have a open door in your drawing some thing to kitchen maybe.

You have to change the properties for the door it fit the box walls. I my example thickness 0.016 m 1750 hight and so on.

And now is appearance of you furniture left to do, the you is satisfied save your work.

8: Now you have a bld file. This file You have to export to 3ds or dxf to use in Your catalog OBS! Turn of TERRAIN.
9: Open catalog manger ad you new furniture, ad some color and texture to your furniture to the catalog. save catalog.

You can make other things to use in your catalog in the same way as in the example above.

Good idea - I usually do this straight in Plan View but this does provide an alternative. I find curves easier to manage in Layout View, especially as part of furniture.
