Mapping out terrain

Hi All,
Thanks for the tips from before in getting me started. I think I'm getting the hang of getting the elevations of my terrain modelled quite accurately using the plateau tool, but I'm wondering how you add a large area of water with a small island which is only a short distance from shore. Is it possible to trace the water area/island from aerial photos?

You can File/Import a photo to Trace onto the Location where it will be but the challenge will be to get the scale correct with the rest of the model. Ideally crop the image so it shows only the same area as your terrain and set the size the same during the import.
