Hi,
Can Floorplan Turbo...

1.  Make framing drawings?    i.e. show studs   Can it draw studs at uneven locations where they actually exist?

2. Distinguish between existing construction and new?   I.e.   Show existing construction in subdued or light lines, and new work to be constructed in darker or heavier lines?

3. Draw Electric Plans?  I.e.  outlet boxes,  light fixture and switch locations, make circuit designations.

4. Draw Plumbing Plans?

5. Can one take a framing floor plan, make a duplicate of it, and then lay the electric and plumbing on it as a seperate drawing?

Hi Tom,

Welcome tothe Forum.

It sounds to me as though you really need the parent program Envisioneer. TFP is simplified and optimised for photorealistic rendering. It will show framing but it is not very flexible.

You could fudge the old and new by using different wall 2D colour settings but this may prove messy.

It will do some basic electrical plans but I not much in plumbing. Again you could fudge it from other things but that depends on how much you are doing.

You can duplicate Locations and just display the ones you want but if you are going into this in a big way TFP may not be the right program for your purposes.

Yes and I do it often.  Export a screen print or rendered 2D or 3D (elevation usually to avoid perspective issues) as .bmp or .jpg etc. and then use that in background and apply dimensions or notes.  I usually use Visio or Illustrator as they have vector lines but Photoshop or similar works OK too.

Visio is particularly nice in that it does architectural scale well so dimensions are "automatic" sized, tho manually put into place.  And Visio works well to generate a dimensioned 2D design that can be imported into TFP and used to "trace" 2D floorplan...so you can use Visio for both input and output with TFP.

See attached .pdf for interim old example (may have a few errors...in progress). Visio allow for complete control of info.
