Question about Patch Update

I had been using the trial version & installed the boxed version today along with the update that I found on the IMSI website. Now I don't get the option for 3d perspective & 3d overview, the only choice is "place new camera". Is it supposed to be that way with the update or is there a setting to fix that. I've searched all the settings but couldn't find anything.

That did not happen when I applied the Update it was just the same. I did see it however when I opened a copy of a file someone else had posted on the forum it was like yours is. I assumed they had deleted these views. Do they still appear on the View menu?

Hi Allan,

After I posted my question last night, I uninstalled the Turbo program. I couldn't remove the update program because it was not in the Add/Remove section. When I initially installed Turbo I didn't check if I had the 3d perspective option, I assumed it was there. What I did check is the Overcast option & it wasn't there which is why I went ahead and installed the update & then the Overcast & Cloudy options were there.

I also wanted to ask you about the extra elements. You mentioned it in a post to someone else about the bathroom.  How can I get those elements, I'm curious as to what they are especially the bathroom one.
The box version only came with one CD and there's a folder labelled extra something or other, can't remember exact phrase. I couldn't open those folders. Do you think that's where they are or can I find them on the internet. I couldn't find it on the IMSI website either.

The extra elements are probably in the extra folder you mentioned on the CD.  They are just catalog files - not a program as such.  You Open TFP go to File/Catalog menu and disconnect the existing catalog and use the new one.  I forget exactly now but the Bathroom catalog for example is only that - about 10 or so bathroom fittings but everthing is joined together - basin, cabinets, bath, shower, toilet, towel rails etc in different configurations, but all stuck to each other as one model.  If one happens to be as you want it, then that is OK but you cannot change or move anything which is why I regard then as useless (to me).

The Update added the sky settings and fixed the need to restart the program in order to reset the Advanced rendering - that was a real pain. There are still some issues and I know they are working on them but we will have to wait for another update or new version to fix those (hopefully).

Are you up and running again now?

I'm still at work so I'll be re-installing the program later on. In reference to the catalog,how do I disconnect the existing catalog or will I see that option once I get in there.

It will be obvious - there is a Close Catalog, Open Catalog etc.

You can have only one catalog open at one time.

You can merge catalogs together but not a good idea as that will slow down the program with a large catalog

If you want you can insert an item from one catalog, switch catalogs and save that item to the other catalog.

Experience has shown that its best to save an original catalog as a backup file in case it get corrupt and needs to be replaced you won't have to re-install the whole program.

Likewise as you add items to your catalog, you may want to make regular backups of the modified catalog file....just in case....so you can recover and not have to re-add a bunch of items to the base catalog.
