When I open the catalog under "file" , "catalog", "catalog manager", then "elements", I can see there is a "trim" folder, but I can not get to it from the design side to actually use the elements. There are also "misc" & "parts" folders too over there somewhere, but it's the samething. How do I get to them from the main program so I can insert them. I've looked everywhere. I am using Home & Landscape Pro.

Also, I thought I came across a way to search the catalog from the main design screen at one point, but now I can't find it again. Anyone know?

Thanks!

The trim items are reached from the design activity via the dialog box for an object....

example for wall trim:
select a wall, right click and select properties (or dbl clk the object)...
..in the properties window, select the trim tab, select the trim item and where it is applied, then click on the select button, and choose from the catalog

This is a general/typical process...get to the object's properties window....and click/dbl-click as often as needed to "drill down" deeper to make more detailed choices from the curret catalog. While there you can also add or change catalog items/properties...and they will "stick" if you say OK to save catalog changes when you close TFP or the catalog.

There is no search tool that I know of and we have asked for that in a future version.  However, at the end of the help file there is an object index of sorts to help you find your way in the catalog maze.  Older FPxx was search-able via opening the database using Access, but TFP appears to use a SQL database and I've had no luck opening it up as I have no SQL tools.
