Combining a slab garage with a crawl-space foundation

I am trying to do a rough model of my house, but cannot figure out how to have a foundation with crawl space for the living quarters and a concrete slab for the garage.  The garage is part of the house, unlike the wizard samples, which all seem to be separate units, even if attached at some point.

The wizard seems a bit unwizard-like, as it attempts to place carpet in the garage as well as the house, and to make it the same type of foundation as the rest of the house.  This does not make sense.

I have searched through the forums and found some partial help, but nothing that directly addresses the ability to create two joined but different basic type structures.

Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the Fourm!

I think what you are looking for is the Building Locations.  Here you can set a separate Location for the garage at the same 'height' (or is it depth) as the foundation.  Each Location is independent of the other (except windows and doors will cut through two walls that are in the same space but on different locations), so you can have different foundations etc, etc, etc.  (Settings/Building Locations)

I have never used the wizards but if a floor is set to automatic (Settings / Program Settings) it will have the same surface throughout the building. If this is turned off, you can add a floor into each room separately and they can be different construction and surface even on the same location.
