tools missing and drawing different height in walls in TFP H&L Pro 14

Hi - Welcome to the forum,

Re the first question - I am afaid I do not understand what the question is. Can you please attach an image as this will make it easier to understand. (Click the Additional Options at the bottom left of the forum entry box).

Floors can be drawn anywhere, with of without walls.  If you look at the floor toolbar icon you will notice it has a little arrow on the right - that gives you three options.  If you select Floor By Picking Points you can draw a floor any shape, anywhere, and you can right click and elevate it to any level. If you have floors set to automatic then they will appear if 4 walls join.  You may want to turn this off. (Settings/Programme Settings/Building Aids). 

You can draw ceilings and the roof the same way if you want.  They will of course all automatically assume the elevation show in the Settings / Building Locations - Floor Level is the top surface of the floor, Ceiling Level is the bottom surface of the ceiling and the roof will sit at the top of the Wall Height.  Floor, walls and ceiling can all be right click Elevated but the roof can't. You can however put a roof on its own location and set it to any height. 

Although the floor, walls and ceiling can be elevated it is best to allow the Builing Locations to control these asthey are all interconnected If you have different wall heights in different parts of the model then use a different location for that part of the building.

Invisible walls are still there but called Room Dividers.  The only way they would be used is to divide a room so you can use different textures on parts of the walls, floor or ceiling or to complete an open ended room so that the program still thinks it is a complete room and hence makes the outside walls assume the Exterior texture.

You will find that TurboFLOORPLAN is much more flexible than previous versions, but many of the settings are 'hidden' on the right click or by double clicking within the dialog boxes.  Read through all the options in Settings / Programme Settings so that you know what can be changed in case you need to later.

I do really thank you for your help.  I have been following You through your answers to stucked TFP users. until now I was in this forum as a "guest", but from now on I will be in.  as a matter of fact, You already answered my first question, which was related  with the 'invisible wall' tool. thanks.

I would like to know your opinion about my suggestion sent a couple of hours ago to Julian referred to his problem with stairs layouts that can not be drawn in TFP. And also I want You to know that I admire your friendly attitude and your sharing-mood of your knowledge. I hope You'll stay for a long with Us!

Hi again...   sorry! I forgot to make clear my other problem. the point is this:

when You change the height of a wall in a corner, without "breaking" it, in the 3D image appears an angled wall end. and also remains in this point in which this change occurs a "corrupted"  section of wall that is not cutted as it should be; that is what I call a "residual wall", which consist in a triangular section of the modified wall.

I follow what you are talking about now. The problem is that you are joining a short wall into a taller one so the program in effect mitres the corner.  Really if you are using different height walls you should have them on a different location.  In this case you are using the short wall as a garden bed I presume, so the ideal way would be to set up a location called Garden Walls for example and set it to the height of those walls.

For garden bed edging though you should really use the garden Rail Edging tool, which will do the job for you and won't have any effect on the house walls.

Your ideas re the stairs were excellent and I have followed up with another way to do it also just using the floor tool.  There are so many ways of doing things in TFP and I have yet to find anything that could not be created in some way.

I appreciate your kind remarks.  I enjoy working with TFP and I have for many years (since V3).  Hopefully I will be here for some time yet. I recently took a redundancy package, so have retired early.  I am looking forward to having the time to experiment even more than previously.
